Zoom teeth Whitening

Zoom can remove years of stains from your teeth in just 1 procedure. In fact, ZOOM Teeth Whitening whitens teeth up to 8 shades whiter in as little as 45 minutes!

Procedure:

Step 1:
Zoom teeth whitening is an in-office procedure. The Zoom whitening procedure takes about an hour, but the entire appointment, including the exam, takes about 90 minutes. You’ll have a quick exam to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy enough for whitening, and to check if you have any dental restorations like bridges or crowns. If you haven’t had a cleaning recently, you may need to get one. We suggest a full dental cleaning BEFORE investing in whitening because removing surface stains and calculus may make a major difference.

Step 2:
The Zoom whitening procedure starts with protecting your gums and soft tissue. We will put in cheek retractors and enough cotton rolls to keep your top and bottom teeth from touching each other. We will then paint a protective layer on your gums because the whitening agent used in Zoom is powerful.

Once that’s done, we put a layer of the Zoom whitening agent on your teeth (front surfaces only), and set the laser light in front of your teeth. You’ll be provided with safety glasses for this portion of the program. Feel free to take a selfie for Facebook at this time 😉 The full Zoom whitening procedure consists of 4, 15-minute sessions.

Zingers: The whitening agent in Zoom is powerful and temporarily dissolves a thin layer that covers your enamel. That layer (Pellicle) is what protects your teeth from being overly sensitive during daily daily activities, like eating and drinking. Some people experience “zingers” during the whitening session. Zingers can feel like tiny electric shocks around your gums and teeth. You may want to take a little Ibuprofen before hand if this concerns you, but check with Dr. Riddle beforehand.

Step 3:
After each 15 minute session you will be checked to see if you need more whitening agent applied. If you don’t want your teeth blindingly white, you can end your session early. Feel free to use the entire hour though.

Once the procedure is finished you can rinse out your mouth and admire yourself in the mirror.

That thin layer that was removed will grow back within 48 hours so don’t smoke or eat/drink anything dark before that time is up.

How long do the results last?

By following some simple post whitening care instructions, your teeth will always be lighter than they were before.  To keep your teeth looking their best, we recommend flossing, brushing twice daily, and occasional touch-ups with Zoom!  Take-Home gel. These are professional strength and are available to purchase at Dr. Riddle’s office.

Is there a difference between over-the-counter tooth witheners and zoom?

Yes!  Consulting with Dr. Riddle and his team of professionals is always the first step towards whitening your teeth safely.  Plus, over-the-counter tooth whitening strips, brush on gels, and toothpastes can take weeks or months to whiten your teeth just a few shades.  Zoom! is clinically proven to whiten your teeth an average of six shades in just one weekend.*  Only your dentist can get your teeth this white, this fast.
