Dental bonding

Dental bonding can fix crooked, gapped or badly stained teeth. Dr. Riddle reconstructs, reshapes, and conceals tooth defects using composite resins, which are the same color as your existing tooth.

Cosmetic bonding is a more affordable alternative to veneers and other more complex cosmetic dental treatments. Bonding is also a more conservative option because it requires little or no alteration to your existing teeth.

Dr. Riddle may suggest that cosmetic bonding is a good idea if you wish to correct any of the following cosmetic flaws:

  • Gaps and spaces between teeth.
  • Stained, yellow, or discolored teeth.
  • Irregularly shaped teeth.
  • Cracked or chipped teeth.

To save your smile, Dr. Riddle will proceed to create a replacement part of the tooth, matching the color of the chipped tooth, and make it whole again.
The procedure only takes about forty-five minutes so you will be in and out in no time.

Dental veneers

You don’t have to hide your smile because of gaps, chips, stains, or misshapen teeth anymore. With dental teeth veneers, you can easily correct your teeth’s imperfections to help you have a more confident, beautiful smile. Veneers are natural in appearance and are a perfect option for patients wanting to make minor adjustments to the look and feel of their smiles.

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted from tooth-colored materials (such as porcelain) and are designed to cover the front side of your teeth. To prepare for veneers, Dr. Riddle will create a unique model of your teeth. This model is sent to a dental technician/lab who creates your veneers. Before placing your new veneers, Dr. Riddle may need to prepare your tooth to achieve the desired aesthetic result.

You’ll be pleased when you see how natural your new veneers look.

You can discuss which type is best for you with Dr. Riddle.

The difference between tooth bonding and veneers

Dental tooth bonding and veneers are generally considered cosmetic dentistry. They are both used to improve the appearance of YOUR teeth that are visible when you smile.

A porcelain veneer is made in a dental lab whereas tooth bonding is achieved by bonding the resin inside the mouth and hardening it with a special lamp.

The porcelain veneer gives a more precise and beautifully natural looking result. Porcelain is also a much denser & stronger material than bonding resin and it’s color-match is more stable and longer lasting.

Veneers cannot be reversed because the surface of each tooth must be “shaved off” and the wafer thin veneers bonded into place. Veneers do not discolor like bonding will, and veneers will last much longer.
